Korean CFI Program

Ahart Aviation Services is announcing, starting on July 1st, 2011, a CFI job program for South Korean students who attend Ahart Aviation Services for their full Commercial pilot and CFI licenses.

This program will allow a South Korean national, who does their Private, IFR, Commercial Twin, Certificated Flight Instructor and Certificated Flight Instrument Instructor certifications with Ahart to become flight instructors within the Ahart family of quality instructors.

Many students want to do this to build their hours. For example, if you would like to work as a flight instructor to build 500 hours of additional flight time, and you fly 30 hours a week, it may only take you 4 months to complete our additional flying!

To qualify, you will need to fill out an enrollment form and specify that you are interested in this program in the comments section. Then, once you finish all of your certifications, you may be hired as a flight instructor to work for up to 3-6 months building time and learning from the best flight school in California. The United States Government allows students who get their training at Ahart to work 1 month for every 4 months they take courses at Ahart. So, the longer you you study, the more time you can participate in this program. As an example:

You have taken 6-9 months to get your Private, Instrument and Commercial license at Ahart. With this amount of time, you will be able to work at Ahart for 3 months using the SEVIS OPT (Optional Practical Training) program.
Once you finish commercial, you can then take your flight instructor course (CFI) that could take from 1 -3 months to complete (depending on how often you come to the school). With this additional time, you will then have credit to work for 4 months using the SEVIS OPT program.
Now that you are working as a CFI, you can now take your CFII (Instrument instructor) course, and build additional time. To perhaps a total of 5 months of credit.
After you get your CFII certificate, you can then work on your Multi-Engine instructor rating (MEI) and build even more time to a total of 6 months of work credit.

The U.S. government has put this program together to help international students build time necessary to make them more marketable in their home country. SEVP (Student Exchange and Visitor's Program) will allow up to 6 months of on-the-job training using this program.

Please be careful when a flight school promises you something that might sound too good to be true, it problems is. Some flight schools might promise:

6-month completion and starting as a CFI.
- Because of weather, aircraft in maintenance, and other unknown elements, a promise of 6 months to complete all of these studies might be possible, but very difficult. An estimate of 7-8 months is much more reasonable. The U.S. government suggests 12 months.
Unlimited work at their flight school
- The United States government does not allow a flight school to hire a CFI on an M-1 or F-1 visa for more than 6 months, and that flight school can get into a lot of trouble trying to do this.
The flight school doesn't have to pay you?
- Ahart pays all of their instructors the same rate no matter where they come from. It can be almost considered 'slave' labor if we did not. So, Ahart brings even more value to you as a customer and as a flight instructor.
